Born in Utica, New York, Judith has been a member of the Brunswick community since 1968. From 1973 to1983 she held management level positions for several Maine non-profit organizations. After earning an MBA at the Whittemore School of Business and Economics in 1983, she shifted gears and worked as a law firm administrator until June 2000.
With retirement, Judith enhanced her life-long love of gardening by completing the Cooperative Extension Master Gardener training program. Life as a visual artist began in 2003 when she signed up for a drawing course at Maine College of Art. Since then she has explored a variety of mediums, including drawing in graphite and colored pencil, painting with watercolor and acrylics, collage, printmaking and black and white film photography and wet darkroom processes. She now focuses primarily on printmaking, including etching, drypoint, monotypes, wood and linoleum block and silkscreen.
A founding member of Points of View Artists, Judith regularly exhibits her work at Points of View Art Gallery located in the Brunswick Business Center, 18 Pleasant Street. She is also a member of Circling the Square Fine Arts Press in Gardiner where she was International Facilitator for a collaborative print exhibit with the Estamperia Quitena, a fine art press in Quito, Ecuador. A four year project, A Sense of Place / El Sentido del Lugar, exhibited 90 prints in six venues in Maine, at Boston University School of Theology and in Quito. She co-founded the Brunswick 10 x 10 Benefit Show and Sale, which for ten years was a community-wide event in support of Arts Are Elementary.
